Amari Watergate Hotel Bangkok Review 2022

From the outside looking in, every part of Bangkok may seem the same. However, once you spend some time wandering around this enormous city, you'll quickly conclude that each neighborhood provides a unique adventure. Recent events allowed me to spend the night at the Amari Watergate Hotel. The property can be found at the epicenter of some of Bangkok's most well-known shopping districts.

All sorts of stores, from discount outlets to high-end boutiques, can be found within a short walk of the property.

The Rooms at Amari Watergate

When we checked in, we were led to the Executive Club on the 32nd floor without our knowledge. Even though we were clueless about what that meant, our jaws dropped at the sight of the cityscape from the lounge after we ascended to the upper floors. Executive Room guests can enjoy the Executive Lounge, which overlooks the city and is well worth the extra cost. Hang out, get some work done, or take advantage of the daily happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m., when complimentary cocktails and small bites are provided (whaaat!). Just take my word for it; it doesn't get any better.

Our spacious, modern Executive Club room was beautifully decorated. We've stayed in Bangkok before, but our room's view was amazing. We knew we'd enjoy our two-night stay with a work desk, coffee and tea machines, and a soft bed. The bed felt like a cloud (no joke).

The Executive Club Room includes happy hour cocktails, food, and a delicious buffet breakfast. Breakfast breads, jams, fruits, smoked salmon, bacon cheese, and more. Eggs, sushi, cereals... I could continue, but you get the idea. Food and coffee were delicious—the perfect way to start the day.

The Amenities at Amari Watergate

The amenities at the Amari Watergate are second to none, with a swimming pool, spa, saunas, and a sizable fitness center all available to guests. Compared to other hotel gyms I've visited, theirs was surprisingly spacious and well-equipped. A yoga instructor would occasionally hold classes for guests in a designated area of the hotel. The hotel underwent extensive renovations, but guests could still use the pool and other facilities. As digital nomads (we made that term up) and business travelers, we greatly appreciated the hotel's reliable internet connection.

The Service at Amari Watergate

People have returned to Amari Watergate over the years due to its longevity. The reason was simple. Assist. Every staff member greeted us with a smile and went out of their way to help. As we waited in the lobby for our Uber, a staff member asked where it was coming from and suggested we take a seat. She gave her colleague our ride's license plate number so he could watch for it and let us know when it arrived. How cool can they get? The Executive club staff was friendly and helpful.

Overall Experience at Amari Watergate

We avoid staying at hotel chains whenever possible because many seem impersonal and lack character. Despite this, after staying at Amari for two nights, we realized this was not the case. Even though there are plenty of other, newer hotels in the area, this one has managed to stay in business thanks to the extraordinary efforts of its friendly and helpful staff.

We would go back because of its convenient location, level of service, and warm, friendly vibe.
